State Employee Art Exhibition at DSU until March 13

Friday, February 24, 2017

The DSU Arts Center/Gallery is currently hosting the Delaware State Employee Art Exhibition, a fascinating show of artwork by talented state workers.

The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Sponsored by the National Arts Program in support and cooperation with the State of Delaware and the Delaware Division of the Arts, the exhibit is judged by professional artists and visual art professionals in Amateur, Intermediate, Professional, Teen, and Youth classifications, and it is free to all.

Among the 220 works on display in the exhibition is an entry by a DSU employee Bryant T. Bell, director of major gifts in the Division of Institutional Advancement. He features an acrylic painting entitled “Porsche.”

“The Arts Center/Gallery is very pleased to partner with Delaware Division of Arts to bring the Delaware State Employee Art Exhibition to the DSU community,” said Jennifer Gunther, Arts Center/Gallery director “This is our fourth year hosting the exhibition and it is very exciting to promote an art exhibition that engages the community and offers a special opportunity to all state employees.”

The Delaware State Employee Art Exhibition is designed to give artists at all skill levels a unique opportunity to exhibit their creative work and to compete for cash prizes.

The exhibition will continue until March 13 in the Arts Center/Gallery, which is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday, as well as on two Saturdays, Feb. 27 and March 5 from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

A reception and awards ceremony will be held in connection with the exhibition from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 4 in the Arts Center/Gallery, which is located off of the entrance foyer of the William C. Jason Library on campus
