During periods of severe weather or emergency, updates on the status of University closures, events, parking, transportation, and dining facilities will be posted here.
We encourage our students, faculty, and staff to use their own discretion in determining safe travel conditions in absence of official University closings or cancellations as we cannot always accurately assess or predict conditions in all of the localities from which our constituents travel.
Campus Operations
WEATHER UPDATE FOR TUESDAY, JANUARY 27: EVENT CHANGES, REMOTE CLASSES AND OPERATIONS
The following changes will be made to campus operations for Tuesday, January 27:
- Due to weather conditions all scheduled face-to-face classes are to be asynchronous. In the case of synchronous classes, all should be held during the scheduled time.
- All essential personnel are required to report for their regular working schedules as designated by their department administrator.
- Faculty and staff who are not required to report to campus are expected to work remotely during normal business hours.
- University-sponsored events and other events previously scheduled on campus are canceled.
- All Athletics practices will be held at Memorial Hall Gymnasium
- ATHLETIC PRACTICE UPDATE FOR STUDENT-ATHLETES
Due to inclement weather, all athletic practices scheduled for Tuesday, January 27 will proceed as planned; however, student-athletes are not expected to drive to attend.
Under these extreme weather conditions, driving to campus or practice locations is strongly discouraged and not required. All absences will be excused.

- The Early Child Laboratory School and ECIC will be closed.
- Students, please park in the designated lot that matches your parking decal.
- Shuttle services will not be provided on Tuesday, January 27.
- Dining services will be as follows – DSU ID Required:
- Conrad Hall – 9 AM - 7 PM
- Dulaney Hall – 9 AM - 7 PM
- The Grill - 3 PM - 9 PM
- The following campus food services will be closed:
- The Village – Closed
- Chick-fil-A – Closed
- 1891 Market – Closed
- Dunkin’ Donuts – Closed
- Admin Marketplace – Closed
- The Campus Bookstore will be closed.
- The Copy Center and Mailroom will be closed.
Facilities will be treating all campus and site locations. Please use caution when walking or traveling on the main campus, DSU Downtown, Wilmington Kirkwood Highway, and Cap One Riverfront locations, as sidewalks and roadways may be slippery due to snow and ice. For safety purposes, please limit foot and vehicle traffic.
The safety of the Delaware State University community is the highest priority. Students, faculty, and staff should never take unnecessary risks and should exercise good judgment during times of inclement weather.
The Campus Health Center and Counseling Center will also be closed.

Students enrolled in the United Healthcare Student Resources insurance plan have access to telehealth medical services through HealthiestYou.

Students who do not have United Healthcare should contact their insurance company and inquire if telehealth is an option for services.
