Office of Restricted Funds Accounting

Restricted Accounting is a part of the Finance and Administration Division and falls under leadership of the Vice President of Finance & Administration. A Director under the direction of the University Controller oversees the unit.

Restricted Accounting currently has five positions: A Director and four Financial Administrators that report directly to the Director. Each position is responsible in the Post-Award Administration process involving managing grants and contracts for specific granting agencies. Responsibilities include setting up grants in the University’s accounting system, Banner, and the State of Delaware’s accounting system, First State Financial (FSF). Additional duties include monthly invoicing, drawdowns from federal agencies, monthly reconciliations, financial reporting, payroll, scholarship processing, etc.

The goal of Restricted Funds Accounting is to ensure that all grant-related financial functions are being executed timely, accurately and in accordance with agency authorization and approval. It is our primary duty to service DSU students, faculty and staff to assist them with their post-award financial needs. We strive to demonstrate excellent customer service that allows the grant family community the resources needed to continue writing and executing the research for grants awarded.
