Alternate Format Book Request

DSU faculty, staff, and students who are registered with the Center for Disability Resources (CDR) and have the accommodation “Reading materials in accessible format” on their Accommodation Letter should do the following to request their materials in accessible format:

  1. Login to Accommodate
  2. Select “Accommodation” and click on “Accommodation”
  3. Select “Alternate Format Request”
  4. Click on “Add New Request” and follow the prompts.
  5. CDR will process the request and follow up via email.

If the book is not already included in the price of tuition, proof of purchase for the book must be provided before the electronic file can be sent. You can upload proof of purchase within the Accommodate Alternate Format Request.

Unless specifically requested, all books are provided from the Publisher in an OCR’d PDF Format. In the event a person feels that the Publisher is taking too long to provide a file, they always have the opportunity to bring their book to the CDR to have it cut, scanned, and spiral bound.

If you do not currently have the “Reading materials in accessible format” accommodation on your Accommodation Letter, but feel you may qualify, please make an appointment with the CDR to discuss any options that may exist.
