Peer Programs

PEER COUNSELOR PROGRAM

  • The Peer Counselor Program provides student staffed outreach that offers problem solving and active listening support to students.
  • Students from various majors are trained in active listening skills, problem-solving, and facilitating psycho-educational groups.
  • Peer counselors provide in-person and virtual workshops on meditation, leadership, remaining productive virtually, self-care, effective study habits, and self-awareness.
  • Peer Counselors must have completed at least 24 credits and have a minimum GPA of 3.25. These are paid positions.
  • If you would like to be trained as a peer counselor or would like to have peer counselors present to a group, please contact the Counseling Center at 302.857.7381 and speak with Dr. Monk.

P.E.P.S.A.A. PROGRAM

Peers Educating Peers on Sexual Assault Awareness

  • Connecting to raise awareness to change a culture
  • Students are trained as peer educators to provide sexual violence prevention workshops to the campus community.
  • If you would like to be trained as a P.E.P.S.A.A. presenter or would like to have P.E.P.S.A.A. present a program to a group, please contact the Counseling Center at 302.857.7381 and speak with the program coordinator, Ms. Rosie Johnson.
