Dr. Rahmanda Salamatu Campbell – The Reading Clinic Dyslexia & Neurodivergent Scholarship
The purpose of this fund is to establish a charitable scholarship within the Delaware State University Foundation to support Delaware State University students with dyslexia, a Specific Learning Disorder in reading and one of the most common neurodevelopmental differences, affecting approximately 1 in 5 individuals.
Recognizing that dyslexia often co-occurs with other neurodevelopmental differences, this scholarship is also open to neurodivergent students with documented diagnoses such as Specific Learning Disorder with impairment in written expression (dysgraphia), Specific Learning Disorder with impairment in mathematics (dyscalculia), and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as defined by the DSM-5-TR.
This scholarship affirms that neurodivergent students bring unique strengths, perspectives, and contributions to academic communities. Its purpose is to help remove financial barriers, promote persistence, and support academic success for students whose learning profiles have historically been underserved—particularly within higher education.
