Campus Health Center
MISSION
The mission of the department of Campus Health Center is to assist students in the pursuit of their academic goals and personal development by providing quality and confidential health care services. Striving to maintain a healthy campus community, emphasis is placed on the prevention of illness and the promotion of wellness through health education.
To fulfill our mission the Campus Health Service staff will:
- Provide quality health care in a professional and caring environment;
- Adhere to ethical, professional, and legal standards;
- Offer health promotional activities to assist students in making healthy lifestyle choices;
- Refer students for services not available on campus;
- Monitor for and respond to public health concerns.
HEALTH CARE SERVICES
On campus, you have access to medical professionals 5 days a week at the Campus Health Center.
- Treatment for illness and injury
- Reproductive Health Services
- Limited on-site diagnostic testing
- Health promotional activities and health education
- Referral for specialty care off campus when deemed necessary
- The student is responsible for transportation to off-campus health care facilities.
- The University is not responsible for the cost of medical care received at off-campus facilities.
- The University does not cover the cost for transportation.
The Campus Health Center offers health care to all residential students and all full-time undergraduate commuter students who have a completed health form on file with the Campus Health Center.
To schedule an appointment, call 302.857.6393. Students are only eligible to receive services during the semester they are currently enrolled in and will be asked to show a validated Delaware State University Identification Card before any services are rendered.
- In the local community, you have access to walk-in care at Urgent Care Centers and emergency care at the hospital.
- The Campus Health Center does not do physical exams; contact your primary care provider for this service.
PRE-ENTRANCE HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
All students must have their completed Health Form submitted to the Campus Health Center.

Complete medical history forms electronically through the Student Health Portal AND mail completed Health Form to the Campus Health Center. This must be done in order to complete the registration process, receive clearance to move into campus housing, and receive health care services.
All residential, international and full-time undergraduate commuter students are required to provide proof of the following immunizations / screenings: Physical exam within the last year; Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR); Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis (Tdap); Meningococcal Meningitis (MCV4 and Men B); Polio and a recent Tuberculosis (TB) risk assessment screening with additional testing if needed.
