Dual Enrollment Program
Through high school and community-based organization partnerships, Delaware State University’s Dual Enrollment Program attracts some of the best and brightest scholars to take college courses while enrolled in high school. Delaware State University offers two forms of Dual Enrollment.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
- High school scholars must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 to be eligible for acceptance.
- Scholars must be formally registered in the Delaware State University Dual Enrollment Program and meet all eligibility requirements prior to enrolling in college-level courses..
Benefits

- Earn college credit at a more affordable price.
- Simultaneously complete their high school courses and get a jump start by taking college courses that will count toward their college GPA.
- Develop valuable skills by being exposed to college-level courses that will prepare them for their future college experiences.
- Have access to DSU resources such as tutoring, advising, and library materials. Some restrictions may apply.
- Prepare for college-level coursework and a successful transition to their next higher learning institution.
TWO FORMS OF DUAL ENROLLMENT
Hornets Fast Track
- College courses are taught by high school teachers or licensed instructors on a student’s high school campus.
- Scholars will continuously complete their high school and college credits.
- General education courses such as English, Math, and History are offered. Scholars can contact their high school college counselor or principal for specific course offerings.
- If high schools cannot provide instructors, courses may be taught by Delaware State University via Zoom, and additional fees will apply.
DSU Campus-Based
- College courses are taught by DSU faculty from the university campus via Zoom in synchronous and asynchronous formats.
- This form of Dual Enrollment offers a greater selection of courses. This is ideal for scholars looking to register for specific subject areas that are not offered at their local high school. Programs are offered in education, humanities, engineering and business subject areas.
- Added value will allow scholars the opportunity to visit the campus and participate in university resources.

- Check Eligibility: Contact your high school guidance or college counselor to confirm whether your school partners with Delaware State University for Dual Enrollment.
- Apply: Complete the step-by-step Dual Enrollment application process to officially enroll and gain access to DSU college-level courses.
REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE
- Submit a high school transcript and a recommendation letter from a school representative (e.g., counselor, teacher, or administrator).
- Collaborate with your high school counselor to identify appropriate course selections that align with both high school and college requirements.
- The Director of Dual Enrollment at Delaware State University will work with the Office of Admissions and other university stakeholders to finalize registration into the approved courses.
- Upon acceptance, each scholar will establish an official Delaware State University academic record, which contributes to their college GPA and may be applied toward a future degree.
