The DSU Office of Human Resources held its 2018 Professional Development Workshop for University leaders on May 17 in the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Center.

Entitled “Building Blocks of Leadership” the daylong event – attended by about 150 administrators, directors, deans and chairs – featured full-group sessions in the morning on infectious control, risk management, campus safety, emergency response/active shooter, cyber security and Title IX.

Breakout sessions on leadership topics were held in the afternoon. Topics included team leadership, conflict resolution, time management, leadership challenges, effective customer service, harnessing creativity and innovation, internal communications, stress management, and leading change.

Presenters and facilitators included Dr. Tony Allen, J.D. Bartlett, Fayetta Blake, Jasmine Buxton, Pltm. Jorge Camacho, Dr. Germaine Cheatham-Hemphill, Dr. Francine Edwards, Dr. Michelle Fisher, Darrell McMillon, Dawn Mosley, Dr. Gwendolyn Scott-Jones, Dr. Devona Williams, Jordin Williams and Candy Young.
