ABC Nightline visits Delaware State University

Wednesday, August 19, 2020

A camera crew from ABC News Nightline paid a visit to Delaware State University on Aug. 18 to tell the story of how the institution is implementing its fall semester reopening and the necessary COVID-19 protections on campus.

ABC Nightline – which normally airs at 12:05 a.m. on weeknights – interviewed University President Tony Allen, General Counsel and Chief Risk Manager LaKresha Moultrie, and Dr. Joan Coker, Testing for America Advisory Council member and New Castle County otolaryngologist physician/surgeon. Also interviewed were incoming freshmen David Urbina and Simone Hammond.

The ABC camera crew filmed footage of freshmen students moving into Evers Hall, of the COVID-19 testing process, and of the social distancing provisions made in areas such as the MLK Student Center, the Wellness and Recreation Center, the first floor of the Administration Building, and the Village Café.

The Nightline segment will be aired on ABC Network channels sometime after the Aug 24-27 Republican National Convention on a date to be determined. The broadcast date will be announced on the DSU Buzz (eNews).
