2019 President’s Scholarship Ball – Photos

Delaware State University held its annual President’s Scholarship Ball on the evening of Dec. 14 at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino,which featured a celebration of outgoing President Wilma Mishoe, the soulful performance of R&B artist Stephanie Mills, and the warm fellowship of the institution’s supporters.

During the ball, the University recognized Barclays, Delmarva Power (An Exelon Company), and JP Morgan Chase & Co. with its Corporate Partner Awards, honoring them for their support in promoting student success at the University.

The University presented Alumni Partners Awards to Harvin and Pauline Blocksom (Mr. Blocksom, Class of 1961) of Wilmington, and Rev. Dr. Geraldine Jones (Class of 1961) of Dover.

Rick Deadwyler, a corporate counsel and resident of Newark, Del., received the University’s Community Partner Award.

After Dr. Mishoe presented those awards, Dr. Devona Williams, chairperson of the University’s Board of Trustees, came to the stage joined by other trustees and presented Dr. Mishoe with a large afghan with her portrait image on it in recognition of her presidential service to the institution.

The event was emceed by Brenda Farmer, the University’s executive director of Events and Ceremonies.
