According to Dr. Damayanthie Eluwawalage, assistant professor of Textile and Apparel Studies, the students’ fashion designing began as a class project.

“Because the designs were very good and because they are capable and talented students. I approached the mall about the fashion show,” she said. She added that volunteers from all over the University’s campus were enlisted to model the fashion creations.

The student fashion designers were: Janay Davis, Naima Daye, Destiny Ford, Khiya Gilliam, Malayna Hall, Corrin Judd, Najae Holland, Bahari Hollaway, Michael Lewis, Aniya Moore, Sydney Sanders, Antonetta Savoury, Tazjae Settles, Aniya Tabor and Nadayzia Williams.
