Time Capsule Buried at Loockerman Hall

Thursday, September 14, 2017

Fifty years from now – 2067 to be exact – a time capsule is slated to be unearthed from the hallowed grounds surrounding DSU’s historic Loockerman Hall.

DSU officials buried the time capsule in a Sept. 14 ceremony immediately after the annual Convocation that officially ushered in the 2017-2018 academic year.

DSU President Harry L. Williams and SGA President Lackeeria Lewis included separate letters in the Time Capsule to their 50-year successors.

“I don’t want to reveal what I wrote in the letter, because I want it to be a complete surprise to the president of that time,” Dr. Williams said. “Suffice it to say that I congratulated the president for being the top leader of DSU and told him that it is an honor in the highest position at this great institution.”
