Wednesday, March 23, 2016

(L-r) Jasmine J. Walker plays Stella and Bria M. Borders portrays Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire.

The legendary 1947 scream of Marlon Brandon, will be brought to life as Delaware State University's College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences presents the Tony Award & Pulitzer Prize-winning, A Streetcar Named Desire.

The play – written by Tennessee Williams – will be presented in performances on March 31st at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and April 1st at 7:30 p.m., all in the Education and Humanities Theatre on campus.

Come and experience the New Orleans heat, passion, music, and violence and that ignites the characters of Blanche, Stella, Stanley and Mitch. The desire exhibited in the plot is as complex as a moth attracted to the heat of a dangerous flame that can kill – yet the moth continues to move towards it.

The production features students Jasmine J. Walker as Stella, JaQuan Romeo as Stanley, Daron Hilton as Mitch, Rick Jackson as Steve, Brittany Peterson as Eunice, Adrian Hospedale as Pablo, Nicole Miletti as the Flowergirl, Raykeem Ward as the Young Collector and Bria M.
