Delaware State University 2026 Coronation
DSU celebrated its annual Coronation Ceremony on October 4, officially crowning Nia Dooley and Awasung Nkwa Moma as the 2026-2027 Miss and Mister DSU.
The coronation recognized Dooley and Moma alongside the students who will represent their respective classes as members of the 2026-2027 Royal Court.
Dooley, an elementary education major from Indianapolis, Indiana, has built a strong record of leadership, scholarship and service during her time at Delaware State. A Presidential Scholar and Honors student, she previously served as Miss Sophomore during the 2024-2025 academic year and Miss Junior in 2025-2026 before being elected Miss Delaware State University.
Her experiences have extended beyond campus. Dooley was selected as a Harvard University Du Bois Scholar, completing a summer research program in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and was named a UNCF K-12 Education Fellow. She is a spring 2025 initiate of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Epsilon Alpha Chapter, and serves as community engagement chair for Healing Hornets.
Moma, a financial economics major from Bamenda, Cameroon, has developed his own record of student leadership at Delaware State. Before becoming Mister Delaware State University, he served as Sophomore Class president during the 2024-2025 academic year.
Moma has also pursued entrepreneurship and innovation. He developed an artificial intelligence-integrated agricultural pitch application designed to optimize pesticide use and earned recognition while presenting his work before panels that included entrepreneur and investor Daymond John. His campaign for Mister Delaware State University focused on strengthening pre-alumni culture, expanding micro-grants and providing emergency financial assistance to students. More than 1,300 students participated in the campus election that resulted in his selection.
