DSU alumni art exhibition on display at Arts Center/Gallery

Thursday, September 11, 2025

The Arts Center/Gallery at Delaware State University is currently showcasing an art exhibition titled Origin: A DSU Alumni Exhibition, on display through October 11, 2025. The exhibition showcases the creativity of 28 DSU alumni representing five decades of graduates, from 1975 through 2025.

The exhibition features 47 artworks chosen from a call for submissions, with selections made by guest curator Taylor Gordon and the Arts Center/Gallery. Alumni artists represent a range of degrees, including Studio Art, Art Education, Arts Management, New Media, Mass Communication, Education, Psychology and Business Administration.

Jennifer Gunther, Director of the Arts Center/Gallery, said the exhibition honors the University’s creative roots.

“Origin, where something begins, celebrates the creative works of 28 Delaware State University alumni,” Gunther said. “The Arts Center/Gallery is pleased to present this exhibition and to welcome home our DSU creatives to where it all began.”

She added that the exhibition is more than a display of art. “It’s a joyful opportunity to reconnect with artists who started their creative pathway at DSU,” Gunther said.

Tanisha Baker, Director of Strategic Alumni Engagement in the Office of Alumni Relations, said the exhibition builds connections across the Hornet community.

“This exhibition brings our DSU community together in a special way,” Baker said. “It highlights the power of art to connect alumni, students and the University.”

An artist reception will be held October 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Arts Center/Gallery.
