Held in the MLK Jr. second-floor parlors, the faculty heard first from DSU President Tony Allen.

“You are here for a divine purpose,” Dr. Allen told the faculty. “It is because of you that we have changed the trajectory of this University, and it is not because of who you are, but it is because of what you have been called to do.”

Dr. Allen said three “rocks” or principles continue to guide DSU: responsible growth, a student-centered culture, and customer-centered service.

During the morning sessions, DSU faculty also heard presentations that included an update from the American Association of University Professors on our requirements with the University’s accrediting body, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the growing role and concerns about students’ use of Artificial Intelligence, and an update on DSU research endeavors.
