DSU Chinese Center host groups from The Chinese Mainland and Taiwan, China

The recently established DSU Chinese Language and Culture Research Center has received two official visits from groups from The Chinese Mainland and Taiwan, China.

The Center hosted a Nov. 8 visit by a group of youth from China – 11 middle school students and three accompanying teachers from Yunnan Province in The Chinese Mainland, representing the Yunnan People Foreign Friendly Association.A visiting delegation fromt the National Kaohsiung Normal University visited DSU on Nov. 16.

Hosted by Dr. Yi Zhang, Director of the Center, and assistants Mrs. Wan Li and Mr. Fanlong Meng, Chinese visitors were taken on a campus tour and later met with Dr. Young-Sik Kwak, Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Accounting and Finance in the College of Business.

The Center hosted a Nov. 16 visit by three officials from the National Kaohsiung Normal University, Taiwan, China, including the Vice President Dr. Jau-Rong Li and her colleagues, Dr. Chen-Cheng Chun and Dr. Hsiu-Jen Cheng. The delegation was accompanied by Mrs. Bunny Chang, a Chinese dual-language immersion teacher from the Appoquinimink School District.

Dr. Fengshan Liu, Associate Vice President for International Affairs at DSU, greeted the delegates online and shared the history of DSU and its effort in international collaborations. Dr. Zhang later provided more information about the academic units of DSU.
