Mishoe, Fisher & Hollingsworth honored by ICCL

Awardes l-r, Rosetta Roach, Wilma Mishoe, Michelle Fisher, Reba Hollingsworth, Cassandra Carter, Rosemary Twilley, GiGi Windley.The Inner City Cultural League of Dover honored University President Wilma Mishoe with its Sankofa Golden Phenomenal Woman Award.

Presented during the March 30 Sankofa Arts Center Gala held at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover, the special award honored Dr. Mishoe for her achievement of becoming the first woman to serve as the president of Delaware State University in its 128-year history.

Dr. Mishoe was also recognized for her long career as a higher education administrator that included her years working at then-Wilmington College and Delaware Technical and Community College, as well as her community service.

Sankofa Phenomenal Women Awards were also presented to University alumna Dr. Reba Hollingsworth, as well as Dr. Michelle Fisher, University Assistant Vice President. Others receiving the same award were Rev. Cassandra Carter, a pastoral clinical counselor; Anne B Martin, educator; Dr. Rosetta F. Roach, educator; Rosemary Miller Twilley, founder of the Kent County Fund for the Arts, and GiGi Windley, tourism and economic development administrator.
