Friday, March 18, 2016

Students of the DSU Department of Music were blessed with the presence of well-traveled bassist Roberto Vally, who conducted a series of “Masterclass” workshops on March 17 with the University musicians, many of whom later performed with him in a culminating  informal evening concert.

In addition, Mr. Vally was interviewed by Carlos Holmes on the University's YouTube Talk Show "DSU Inside Perspective." To view that interview, click on https://youtu.be/JHU-eV7n0ms

Roberto Vally’s performing and recording career has spanned decades, genres and nations, and continues to be a consummate work in progress.  He has performed and/or recorded with George Benson, Jeffrey Osborne, All Jarreau, Boney James, Spyro Gyra, and others. In addition to his contributions to the works of other artists, his electric and acoustic bass artistry is featured on his 2014 album “Boom, Boom, Boom.”

He is currently working on his second album that slated for release in late 2016.

The Robert Vally Masterclass was sponsored by the DSU College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
