In further demonstration of continued financial support to Delaware State University, Delmarva Power through the Delmarva Scholarship Golf Classic presented the university this week with a gift of $10,000 toward the endowed scholarship fund the utility company established 10 years ago.

Presented recently to DSU by John J. Allen, vice president of the Delmarva Power Bay Region, and Enid Wallace-Simms, the company’s public affairs manager, the check represented an annual donation by the electric provider into the Delmarva Power Endowed Scholarship Fund that it established in 1998.

Between 2002 and 2009 Delmarva Power has donated $221,000 through its Delmarva Scholarship Classic Foundation, which created an endowed scholarship fund. The company has been a faithful financial supporter of DSU since the early 1990s, since that time donating almost $500,000 for DSU scholarships.
