State Employees Art Exhibition at the DSU Arts Center/Gallery

Wednesday, March 20, 2024

The State of Delaware Employees Art Exhibition is currently on display in the Arts Center/Gallery in the William C. Jason Library on campus.

Delaware Gov. John Carney took time out of his busy schedule on March 19 to see the exhibition – which total 180 works from professional, intermediate, amateur, teen and youth artists who are either state employees or from their immediate families.

The exhibition includes a painting by Chloe Hannah, a DSU sophomore Art Studio major from Camden, Del., whose mother is a state employee. Her work is an oil painting of a cat and entitled “Arnold.”

The exhibition, now in its 13th year, is a partnership between the DSU Arts Center/Gallery and the Delaware Division of the Arts.

“The exhibition provides an opportunity for DSU students to use the Arts Center/Gallery as a learning environment while engaging with the state arts agency,” said Jennifer Gunther, Director of the Arts Center/Gallery. “University interns assisted with installation and visitor services related to the program.”

Ms. Gunther added that in support of the program, the Delaware Division of the Arts provides a paid internship to a DSU student.

The exhibition will be on display at the Arts Center/Gallery until March 22.
