DSU College of Business Int’l Accreditation reaffirmed
Consistent with the high standards Delaware State University sets for its academic programs, the DSU College of Business recently learned that its international accreditation has been reaffirmed for another five years.
The AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB) – notified the College of Business earlier this month that it continues to meet the international accreditation’s standards of excellence required of business schools worldwide.
The accrediting body’s Peer Review Team evaluated the College’s business degree programs last year and recommended an extension of the accreditation. The AACSB Continuous Improvement Review Committee concurred with the recommendation, and the accrediting body’s Board of Directors subsequently ratified its findings.
College of Business Dean Donna Covington said the accreditation is prestigious because the AACSB is the international symbol of excellence in business education.
“Less than 30% of the business schools in the U.S. and less than 5% of all the business schools accredited worldwide carry this designation,” Dean Covington said. “Delaware State University is one among only 36 HBCUs that carry this prestigious designation.”
The international accreditation affirms that the College of Business’s Accounting, Management, as well as Hotel and Restaurant Management programs meet the AASCB global standard of excellence for schools of business.
The College of Business initially earned the five-year AACSB accreditation in 2007, followed by its reaffirmations in 2012 and this year.
