DSU’s Robin Krawitz Featured in NarrateHER Display

Robin Krawitz, assistant professor in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Science, is among the featured women in the new NarrateHER Traveling Exhibition that is currently on display on the first floor of the William C. Jason Library on campus.

The statewide traveling exhibition features picture and quote displays on 12 women considered to be community advocates in the state of Delaware. In addition to Ms. Krawitz, NarrateHER highlights the stories of: Tina Betz, Atlanta Brown, Allison Burris Castellanos, Bebe Coker, Micki Edelsohn, Drew Fennell, Imani Henry, Wanda Lopez, Margie Lopez-Waite, Chandra Pitts and Dee Sewell.

Ms. Krawitz is featured in the exhibition because her work and community advocacy in the area of historic preservation. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of posts for Preservation Delaware, the Delaware State Historic Preservation Office, the Landmark Society of Western New York, as well as other historic preservation agencies.

“It is powerful to understand how your history, the story of your people, is reflected and told in places around us,” Ms. Krawitz is quoted as saying in the display. “Saving these places is saving these stories.”

Ms. Krawitz, an assistant professor and a six-year faculty member at DSU, has been in the historic preservation vocation for more than 30 years.

The NarrateHER exhibition will be on display in the Jason Library until Feb. 28.
