Summer Jumpstart [Virtual]
The Delaware State University Summer Jumpstart [Virtual] is a seven-week virtual learning opportunity that allows students to fast-track their success by earning 6-9 college credits, get a head start on their journey as Hornets, and ease their transition from high school.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
Summer Jumpstart [Virtual] is open to all incoming freshmen and 1st year students.
WHAT ARE THE DATES?
- June 22, 2026 - August 14, 2026
- 7 weeks online, synchronous learning and professional development

The courses listed below are the exclusive offerings available for registration in the 7-week virtual Summer Jumpstart program.
- ENGL 101 English Composition I
- MTSC 110 Algebra A
- MTSC 121 College Algebra
- SPAN 101 Elementary Spanish Language and Culture I
- ART 101 Intro to Art
- PSYC 201 Intro to General Psychology
- HIST 201 American History to 1865 or HIST 203 African American History to 1865
- KINE 101 Life Time Fitness and Wellness
WHAT IS THE COST?

Fees: $100 Summer Jumpstart [Virtual] Enrollment Fee
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS TO PAY?
- Grants are available for those who qualify.
(please apply for financial aid for the Summer 2026 semester by filing the 2025-2026 FAFSA at https://studentaid.gov. Include Delaware State University’s school code – 001428). - 2025 - 2026 FAFSA Deadline: June 30
Note: The 2026-2027 FAFSA must be filed separately for the Fall 2026 semester. - Payment plans are also available beginning May 2026.
HOW DO I MAKE A PAYMENT?
To make a payment, visit the Hornet Payment Portal using the following instructions:
- (Go to my.desu.edu>Banner Self Service > Banner9 > Student Services > Billing Summary > Hornet Payment Portal) with credit, debit, or electronic check. You can pay with cash at the university’s cashiers office.
- Wire transfers are processed by the Office of Business and Finance.
- Please refer to your student account in Banner 9 to login to your DSU Student Account and make a payment.
Note: Summer Jumpstart enrollment fees and associated charges should appear 3–5 business days from the date of completion for Summer Jumpstart registration.
