Disbursement
The Office of Financial Aid determines your eligibility for financial aid, while the Student Accounts Office is responsible for the disbursement of those funds (except Federal Work-Study). Once disbursed, the University Billing Office applies financial aid directly to your University Bill.
Important: Prior session charges must be paid before financial aid can be released. For more details, contact the Student Accounts Office.
University Bills (U-Bills)
- Availability: U-Bills are generated on the first working day of each month and can be viewed in your student account.
- Billing Schedule:
- Summer session → June
- Fall session → August
- Winter session → December
- Spring session → January
Each U-Bill lists tuition and fees, housing, and dining charges, along with an estimate of your approved financial aid (excluding Work-Study). Scholarships and grants are always applied before loans toward tuition, fees, housing, and dining.
Refunds
Starting on the first day of classes, the University Billing Office will issue refunds for any excess financial aid (amounts remaining after your charges are covered). Refunds are released to the student or parent.
To receive your refund faster, set up direct deposit through the Student Accounts Refunds and Direct Deposit portal website at Student Accounts refunds and direct deposit.
Loan Disbursements
If your financial aid package includes loans:
- Check Banner 9 Self Service or your student email for requirements.
- You may need to:
- Accept your loans,
- Complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN), and/or
- Complete Entrance Counseling.
These steps must be completed before loan funds can disburse.
Be sure to select the correct session (e.g., Fall 2025, Spring 2026) in Banner 9 Self Service.
Outside Scholarships
If you are receiving a privately funded scholarship (e.g., Rotary Foundation, hometown organizations), please review the Student Accounts Office instructions for submitting scholarship checks.
