We offer Family and Friends Tours, Group Tours, and monthly virtual Chat With a Hornet: Information Sessions.
Tours here at DSU are walking tours led by our Hornet Ambassadors.
Visitors are led around our campus and shown significant buildings, including our Wellness and Recreation Center, our Bank of America building, our Martin Luther King Jr. Student Center, etc.
For safety reasons, we do not show inside the dormitories at this time.
Tours run from 45 minutes to an hour, and include information on campus life, Delaware State University history, our student academic experience, and campus resources, all from a student perspective!
Our Summer 2026 Tours run through Monday, May 18th, 2026 – Friday, July 31st, 2026 and are available for booking now!
Our Fall 2026 Tours will run from September to December and will be available for booking at the end of August.
Schedule a Family Tour
Family and Friends Tours are for our prospective students and their friends and family.
Starting Summer 2026, Family and Friends Tours are for prospective students with up to 2 guests. (A total of three members per tour party).
Family and Friends Tours are offered at the following availabilities:
- Monday - Thursday: 10:00AM, 12:00PM, and 2:00PM
- Fridays: 10:00AM and 12:00PM
- Every Other Saturday: 11:00AM
If there are no availabilities on the tour booking website, then the tours for that date and time have been filled. Please see below for information on our Waitlist.
Family and Friends Tours are not scheduled on Sundays, holidays or when the University is otherwise closed.
Please note that if the University is closed due to extreme weather, we will not be able to provide your scheduled tour. In those cases, our Hornet Ambassadors will reach out to you to reschedule your tour.
It is important to arrive on time to your scheduled campus tour, as all tours are student led and scheduled based on their availability during class times.
Excessive tardiness of more than 15 minutes will result in forfeiting the tour.
Schedule a Group Tour
Bringing a group of 10 or more to Delaware State University? Book a Group Tour with us!
Delaware State University can accommodate group tours from 10 to 80 guests. If you have more than 80 guests, please note that at this time we will not be able to accommodate your tour.
Group Tours are offered at the following availabilities:
- Tuesday: 10:00AM, 12:00PM, and 2:00PM
- Thursday: 10:00AM, 12:00PM, and 2:00PM
If there are no availabilities on the tour booking website, then the tours for that date and time have been filled. Please reach out to our Tour Coordinator, Mrs. Gordy-Stith, at bgstith [at] desu.edu for assistance.
Due to high demand, Group Tours must be booked a minimum of 3 weeks in advance. If a group does not book 3 weeks in advance, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to provide your group with a tour.
Due to safety reasons, Delaware State University does not allow self-guided Group Tours.
If you would like to see if we can provide an Information Session for your group (pending space and counselor availability), please reach out to our Tour Coordinator, Mrs. Gordy-Stith, at bgstith [at] desu.edu. Information Sessions include a general Admissions Presentation.

Our Hornet Ambassadors will reach out the Friday before your requested tour to inform you if your tour request is available or not.
Chat with a hornet: virtual information session
On the last Wednesday of the month at 3:30PM EST, join one of our Hornet Ambassadors for a virtual information session. Learn more about the history of Delaware State University, the programs offered here, what campus life is like, student support services available for students, and more! General Admissions information will be provided as well.
Students who book for this event will receive the virtual link in their confirmation email.

When are campus tours offered?

How far in advance should I schedule a campus tour?
Due to the high demand for tours, we ask that Friends and Family Tours be booked at least a week in advance.
Group Tours are asked to book at least three weeks in advance.

How will I know my campus tour has been scheduled?
Tours booked on the Booking Site will receive an immediate confirmation email from our system after booking the visit, as well as reminder notifications before the tour.
Tours rescheduled or booked through the Waitlist will receive a confirmation email from our Hornet Ambassadors.
All tours will receive a confirmation call the Friday before the scheduled tour. Please make sure to confirm your tour, as we now have a Waitlist for our Family and Friends Tour.
If for any reason the Campus Tour needs to be cancelled by Delaware State University, a notification will be sent out via email as well as a courtesy call for rescheduling instructions.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?
Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your tour. Please email campustours [at] desu.edu and CC our Tour Coordinator, Mrs. Gordy-Stith: bgstith [at] desu.edu.
Tours will receive a confirmation call the Friday before the scheduled tour. Please make sure to answer the confirmation call and let our Hornet Ambassadors know if you are able to make your scheduled tour or not.
Where do I report when I arrive on campus for my tour?
Campus Tours can report to the Visitors Center kiosk located in the lobby on the 1st Floor of the Claibourne D. Smith Administration Building on the main campus.

What does the campus tour consist of?
Visitors are led around our campus and shown significant buildings, including our Wellness and Recreation Center, our Bank of America building, our Martin Luther King Jr. Student Center, etc. For safety reasons, we do not show inside the dormitories at this time.
These student-led tours include information on campus life, Delaware State University history, our student academic experience, and campus resources.
Guests are asked to dress in comfortable walking shoes and appropriate clothing to accommodate the weather conditions.
How long does the campus tour last?
Campus tours may last from 45 minutes to an hour.
Are chaperones required to accompany student group tours?
Student groups must be accompanied by chaperones; at least one chaperone for every 10 students.
What if it rains during my scheduled campus tour?
Unless otherwise specified, tours will remain as scheduled. Please dress appropriately to accommodate the weather conditions.
What if I cannot make it to my scheduled campus tour?
If you cannot make it to or are running a little late for your scheduled campus tour, please contact the Office of Admissions as soon as possible at 302.857.6351.
If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late, we may move you to our next tour time slot.

Where should visitors park?
Unless otherwise specified, visitors should enter through the main front entrance of the University and park in Lot 18, next to the Claibourne Administration Building.
I (or someone in my group) have a disability and will need to request accommodations for equal access. How can I do this?
We want to ensure that all of our visitors have a quality experience here during their Campus Tour. On our Booking Site, there is a section that asks if ADA accommodations are required.
