Canvas FAQs

You can access Canvas from any computer with an Internet connection. Just log in as you would log in to your DSU email.

Username: This is the same username that you use to access your student email account.
- For Students: Example26 [at] students.desu.edu
- For Staff: Example [at] desu.edu
Password: This is the same password that you use to access your student email account.
- If you need to reset your email password, you will need to reach out to the IT help desk:
  - Email: support [at] desu.edu
  - Phone: 302.857.7028
I logged in but I have a course not showing or a course that needs to be removed.
The system will automatically update Canvas with your courses from Banner. Any course changes in Banner should be automatically reflected on Canvas within 24 hours.
- **Note an instructor needs to ‘publish’ a course for students to view course materials. (if you feel your course is not viewable by the course start date, then please reach out to your instructor and contact canvas [at] desu.edu)
How do I register for an online class?
You register the same way you register for traditional classes — through Banner. Simply go to myDESU and log in. Once registered, your classes are automatically loaded onto Canvas. Please see the guide on banner self-service if you need additional assistance.
