Coronavirus Campus Operations

Students:

  1. Will we be reimbursed for housing costs? Will it be pro-rated? Will we be reimbursed for meal costs?
    Please contact the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management to discuss your account. 
  2. Has the May Commencement been canceled?
    As of this time, the date of May Commencement has not been changed; however, the University will continue to assess the circumstances. 
  3. What should I do if I think I have encountered someone who may have the coronavirus?

  4. Should I be concerned if I was on a cruise ship during Spring Break?

  5. How do I pick up my books if they were already ordered before Spring Break?
    The University Bookstore will be closed through at least April 5. 
  6. What should I do if I need to turn in assignments?
    Beginning March 18, all academic instruction will occur online.  If you have any additional questions, please contact your professor. 
  7. What if I am an international student who cannot travel home?  What are my options?

  8. Will all buildings be closed during this time?
    The University is closed to the general public and only a limited number of students and employees have access to campus buildings.
  9. What should I do if I do not have a laptop or tablet? Who should I contact?

Staff and Faculty:

  1. Can we pick up our paycheck?
    All printed paychecks will be mailed.
  2. Do we have to use our approved sick and/or leave time if we do not return to campus?
    Please contact Human Resources for additional information.
  3. What should I do if a student has reported to me that they do not have a place to live during this closure?
    Please direct all housing requests or concerns to Student Housing at 302-857-6326 or housing [at] desu.edu.
  4. What should I do if I need to pick up my course materials or items from my office?
    Employees may be provided limited access to their offices. Please contact your direct supervisor for assistance.
