Shared part-time commercial kitchen rental
The mission of the Food Business Incubator Center (FBIC) is to nurture, support, and sustain food and agricultural small businesses in the Delaware region by providing professional and technical training, resources for product and process evaluation and a trusted source for information and guidance.
The commercial kitchen is equipped with 18-stove top burners, a gas convection oven, 50-qt mixer, 12" slicer, table-top mixer, work tables, refrigeration, freezer, ice maker, 3-compartment sink, and lockable dry-storage lockers. It has been approved for food processing and is available for product manufacturing, catering, and other food production purposes.
Incubator tenants will time-share space according to the amount of time needed while saving considerable expense over equipping their own kitchens. Rates start at $30 per hour and are discounted for high-volume clients.
The kitchen is available by appointment only. On-site assistance and WIFI access is available as well as limited use of office equipment. If you would like additional information about the food business incubator, please contact the incubator manager at (302) 857-6953.
The Food Business Incubator Center Team has a good working relationship with Delaware Health and Social Services, and is able to advise clients on the various requirements for licensing and permitting.
The kitchen incubator at Delaware State University (DSU) is managed by the Delaware Center for Enterprise Development in collaboration with the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM). The commercial kitchen incubator is located in the Bank of America Building on DSU's Dover, Delaware campus.
