Course Overview:
CCNA R&S: Routing and Switching Essentials (RSE) covers the architecture, components, and operations of routers and switches in a small network. Students learn how to configure a router and a switch for basic functionality. 

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Determine how a router will forward traffic based on the contents of a routing table.
  • Explain how switching operates in a small to medium-sized business network.
  • Use monitoring tools and network management protocols to troubleshoot data networks.
  • Configure monitoring tools available for small to medium-sized business networks.
  • Configure initial settings on a network device.
  • Configure Ethernet switch ports.
  • Implement VLANs.
  • Implement static routing.
  • Implement DHCP on a router.
  • Implement network address translation (NAT).
  • Implement access control lists (ACLs) to filter traffic.

The 70-hour, instructor-led course is the second of 4 courses in the Cisco CCNA Routing & Switching curriculum. The course includes activities using Packet Tracer, hands-on lab work, and a wide array of assessment types and tools.

Course Overview:
Introduction to IoT is a self-paced, 20-hour course that provides an overview of the concepts and challenges of the transformational digital economy when people, process, data, and things connect.

Intro to IoT introduces the concept of a network foundation connecting billions of things and trillions of gigabytes of data to enhance decision making and interactions. Course modules describe how IoE drives the convergence between an organization’s operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) systems, and the business processes for evaluating a problem and implementing an IoE solution. Machine-to-machine (M2M), machine-to-people (M2P), and people-to-people (P2P) connections in an IoE solution are also covered.

Course Overview:
The Introduction to Cybersecurity 2.1 explores the field of cybersecurity, specifically the importance of cybersecurity, data confidentiality, best practices for using the internet and social media safely, and potential career opportunities in this growing field. Course Overview:
CompTIA PenTest+ is the only penetration testing exam taken at a Pearson VUE testing center with both hands-on, performance-based questions and multiple-choice, to ensure each candidate possesses the skills, knowledge, and ability to perform tasks on systems. PenTest+ exam also includes management skills used to plan, scope, and manage weaknesses, not just exploit them.

PenTest+ is unique because our certification requires a candidate to demonstrate the hands-on ability and knowledge to test devices in new environments such as the cloud and mobile, in addition to traditional desktops and servers.

This course will get you prepared to take the PenTest+ certification exam.  

  • CompTIA PenTest+ assesses the most up-to-date penetration testing, and vulnerability assessment and management skills necessary to determine the resiliency of the network against attacks.

This course positions you to successfully complete the associated exam, which is offered on the last day of class at 3:00 pm for classroom students.  Virtual students will receive a voucher for a webcam proctored exam which they can schedule at their convenience.  Beginning on March 5th, 2018, students will receive their course materials through a link in their MyGK account.  This is a BYOD course.  Students can download their course materials and view them on a tablet/iPad or a PC/Mac.
