“Welcome Office of Alumni Relations staff”


The DSU Division of Institutional Advancement is pleased to welcome Dr. Marcia Taylor, the new executive director and Diane Kirby as the new manager for Young Alumni Engagement, in the Office of Alumni Relations. Their energy, creativity and enthusiasm will support DSU alumni initiatives that reinforce friendships and serve the institution.

The Office of Alumni Relations is located in the Administration Building 2nd floor, Room 206, on the front end of the campus. Alumni are always welcome and are encouraged to visit whenever they are in the area.

















Dr. Marcia Taylor '84 is the new executive director of Alumni Relations at DSU. She joined the Division of Institutional Advancement team on December 19, 2016. As a founding member of the mass communications department, she developed the Public Relations specialization and chartered the Public Relations Student Society (PRSSA) at DSU. She has held offices in the Public Relations Society of American (PRSA) in Delaware and Virginia, where she served as a board member while teaching at Norfolk State University. She is also a three-time PRSA Silver Anvil Judge. Dr. Taylor is excited about using her public relations skills and knowledge of DSU to enhance alumni relations.

Diane Kirby is a DSU alumna with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management. She began working at her alma mater in 2013 in the Office of Development, Division of Institutional Advancement.  She is now starting a new position as the Alumni Engagement Manager in the Office of Alumni Relations in the same division. She will be leading and guiding young alumni activities to enhance alumni engagement and help the University meet its strategic goals.
