Biology, Bioinformatics and Chemistry Academy for Scholars (B2-CARS)

Ages Range: Rising 7th and 8th Graders  | Date: June 21- August 6, 2021

Partnership with Capital School District. Summer program will include four DSU undergraduates and 40-48 middle school students from Capital.  The middle school students will report only to the Dover High School. The four DSU undergraduates will conduct research at DSU and interact with middle school students virtually. The four DSU faculty will spend time at Dover High School and DSU. Capital will provide transportation and meals for students

Summer Food Biotechnology Camp for high school students

Age Range: 8th-11th grade | Date: July 26- July 30, 2021 | Time:

The Food Biotechnology Summer Camp is an exciting STEM program at Delaware State University. Students from area high schools are invited to participate in a week long Camp. Through hands-on laboratory experiences and lectures, students will experience Food Biotechnology in a college level setting. They will enjoy experiments using microbes in foods and molecular biological experiments, as well as other fun activities. At the end, students will receive certificates for their completion of the camp.Students will gain knowledge of Food Science and Biotechnology.

National Summer Transportation Institute 

Age Range: High School | Date: June 14- July 9, 2021| Time: 8:30am-3:30pm

The NSTI at DSU intends to create awareness and stimulate interest among high school students in various employment opportunities and career paths in the transportation industry, with or without college preparation.  With a focus on experiential learning—through a combination of field trips, presentations by practicing professionals and supportive classroom research activities. 30hrs of SAT Prep, 40 hrs of Coding Instruction

Verizon Innovative Learning

Age Range: Middle School | Date: July 12-July 30, 2021| Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

The program begins with a summer immersion experience and then meets monthly year-round. It partners the students with mentors and exposes them to the many career opportunities that STEM, technology, and entrepreneurship hold for their futures. The program equips young, minority scholars with insights to become creators and makers through 3D design and printing, coding and app development, virtual and augmented reality, and more.

Blind & Socially Savvy

Age Range: Middle/ High School | Date: June 28-July 2, 2021| 

Blind & Socially Savvy is an innovative soft skills development and leadership training program specifically designed to meet the needs of blind and low-vision youth and young adults. Employment related blindness nuances are a special focus in this highly interactive program.

Come join us for coaching in the use of social cues and body language, mingling/networking skills, establishing your image both in person and in the virtual world. Learn protocols for asking for and refusing help in public spaces and navigating low expectations. Enjoy opportunities to participate in informational interviews, virtual tours and much, much more.

Delaware Division for the Visually Impaired (DVI) Mission Transition

Every summer for over a decade, the Delaware Division for the Visually Impaired (DVI) organizes the Mission Transition program. The program is designed to give college-bound students with blindness and visual impairments a real taste of college life. DVI arranges for the participants and staff to live to in college dorms at Delaware State University for the multi-day event focusing on learning independent living skills, community travel, experiencing dorm life, and learning career skills.

Approaching Storm Band Camp 2021

Rising Freshman – Rising Seniors

Welcome back to campus Approaching Storm!  We will have a robust 3 week band camp to get us ready for a busy Fall season (7 home football games!). We will provide 3 on campus meals and housing (some students may be housed off campus). The cost to attend camp is $200 – BRING THIS FEE WITH YOU.  We are so excited to have you back on campus!
