What is Project Success?

Project Success offers first-time freshmen who have been provisionally admitted to the University the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive a year-long academic program. Provisionally admitted students placed slightly below the university’s admissions standards and must complete the Project Success Program Requirements. Students will earn up to 9 credits during a five-week Summer Bridge experience and receive continuous support to successfully complete their first year at Delaware State University. The Summer Bridge Program runs from JUNE 23 -JULY 28, 2017.

Project Success Program Requirements

  • Apply to DSU and wait for Admissions to invite you to participate in the Project Success Program
  • Attend and complete the five-week Summer Bridge experience (JUNE 23 -JULY 28, 2017)
  • Earn at least a 2.0 GPA by the end of freshmen year in order to continue as a DSU student
  • Actively participate in all program components (tutoring, mentoring, meetings, etc.)

CURRICULUM

The courses listed below are required by the Summer Bridge program. Students must complete all three courses. No additional classes will be offered during the Summer Bridge program. Additionally, students make not take an amended or abbreviated schedule. For example, if you wanted to take any class in addition to or in place of what is listed below it would not be allowed.

PROJECT SUCCESS 2017 COST

The total Summer Bridge Program cost includes summer classes, summer housing, meals, activities, the Summer Bridge New Student Orientation fee, books, and the fall semester Housing Deposit. The majority of the Summer Bridge Program cost may be covered by Financial Aid. However, the $500 non-refundable Summer Bridge Enrollment Fee is NOT covered by Financial Aid and must be paid in full before you are allowed to participate. The $500 non-refundable Summer Bridge Enrollment Fee includes a $300 Summer Bridge New Student Orientation Fee and a $200 Fall Housing Deposit. The costs of the Summer Bridge Program will vary due to book prices and math course placement. Students will receive their math course placements after they have taken the ALEKS. The ALEKS Score and Project Success Cost charts are below.

  • You cannot register for any math course
  • To place in a math course, you must review the content in the Prep and Learning Module
  • Then retake the placement test to earn a score of 30 or higher

30-44

MTSC 075: Introduction to Algebra

  • Credits earned from this course do not count toward graduation
  • This is a pre-college level course. It provides students with a solid foundation in algebra and problem-solving skills needed to move comfortably and confidently into college level course.
45-59 MTSC 121: College Algebra
