Our mission is to help students strengthen their skills in writing for any course across the curriculum through the provision of individual and small group writing consultations.
Our tutorials are conducted by peer educators who assist in various modes of composition (comparative, exemplification, argumentative, etc.); as well as with brainstorming, thesis development, mechanics, organization; MLA, APA, and Chicago research documentation styles, Senior Capstone, and personal statements.
Students utilizing the Writing Studio can expect
- to be greeted warmly and treated respectfully by knowledgeable Peer Educators who are competent in composition and rhetoric.
- to experience a comfortable environment that promotes active learning.
Students utilizing the Writing Studio should bring
- a copy of the writing assignment from their instructor.
- notes and assignment.
Our Peer Educators (Writing Consultants) have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and a 4.0 GPA in English Composition courses.
