Quantitative Reasoning Center

Our mission is to help improve the persistence and success of students in math courses ranging from Developmental Math to Calculus I.

Students in first and second year mathematics should come to the QRC for drop-in math tutoring by qualified Peer Educators.

Students utilizing the QRC can expect:

  • To be greeted warmly and treated respectfully by knowledgeable Peer Educators who are competent in the subjects in which they tutor
  • To sign in and out at each visit
  • A comfortable environment that promotes active learning
  • To complete a short survey summarizing their experience at the QRC

Students utilizing the QRC should bring:

  • Course textbook
  • Notes and assignment
  • Calculator (if allowed by instructor)
  • Pencils (with erasers) and paper

Our Peer Educators (tutors) are math and science majors with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.

The QRC’s schedule changes each semester according to our tutors’ course schedules.

Hours of operation are posted outside the QRC Lab, Room 212 in the W.C. Jason Library.
