CIBER

The Center for Integrated Biological and Environmental Research (CIBER). CIBER serves as an umbrella for researchers from DSU, Wesley College, DTCC, and the University of Delaware to come together and conduct collaborative, interdisciplinary research. CIBER is located in the College of Agriculture & Related Sciences at Delaware State University.

Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program

The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program is a subscription service providing research ethics education to all members of the research community and offers the following courses:

  • Basic and Refresher Courses in the Protection of Human Research Subjects.
  • Good Clinical Practice and ICH
  • Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS)
  • Laboratory Animal Welfare
  • Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)

DNA CORE

Delaware Nucleotide Analysis (DNA) Core Center supports high throughput DNA sequencing and genomics research using the state-of-the-art equipment.  The core was established for DSU faculty, staff, students, and external clients in their research and to provide the DNA sequencing training and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) services.

The Ethics Resource Site

The Ethics Resource Site was established at Delaware State University as an intrinsic part of the Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR): Research Infrastructure Improvement (RII-1). Funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), with a 50% match from the State of Delaware, this program was designed to improve the scientific research infrastructure throughout the state of Delaware.

EPSCoR

The University of Delaware, Delaware State University, Delaware Technical & Community College, and Wesley College are partners in Delaware’s EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Improvement Program (RII-3) grant. EPSCoR, the Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research, is a federal grant program led by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to help states develop their research capabilities and institutions. It has served as a successful model for similar programs adopted by a number of federal agencies that sponsor scientific research.

INBRE

The purpose of the Delaware IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) is to continue building a self-sustaining basic and translational biomedical research capability in Delaware. Under this program, DSU is pursuing diverse educational and research activities aimed at particularly increasing diversity in the Biomedical workforce. It is home to several pilot projects led by DSU researchers and with the participation of talented DSU students.

Office of Sponsored Programs

The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is a support structure and seeks to assist faculty members in a variety of ways - identifying funding sources; assisting with the development of proposals, including the development of a budget; proposal processing, which includes pre-and post-award administration of grants or contract; and review.
