Jumpstart Program Undergraduates | Jun 18-19| Jun 24-25
Jumpstart is an academic enrichment and leadership development program that provides a seamless transitional opportunity for first-time freshmen to get a jump start on their college career by staying on campus, and completing up to nine (9) credits during six (6) weeks in the summer. Jumpstart provides students the opportunity to fast-track their academic success and leadership development in a nurturing learning community upon starting the fall semester. Students with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.7 or better combined with a SAT score of 800 are invited to participate in the program. Mathematics Preparation Program (MP2) Undergraduates | Jun 18-19 | Jun 24-25 | Jun 27-28
MP2 is an early start program designed to prepare incoming Delaware State University freshmen for success in college-level course work.The mathematics course utilizes research-supported, innovative mathematics teaching techniques and enrichment activities based on national and state standards. The enrichment activities will help participants build a solid foundation of fundamental mathematical concepts and procedures. Participants who successfully complete the MP2 mathematics course will be exempt from taking MTSC 075 Introduction to Algebra, a course that does not carry credits toward graduation. An additional option to take an intensive version of English Composition I for college credit is available as part of the program. Also, a summer housing option is available. Early registration deadline is June 17. The program has limited space, so early applications are recommended.

Project Success Undergraduates | Jun 15-Jul 26
Project Success is an intensive academic program for students who place slightly below the University's admission standards. The program is designed to provide students the opportunity to sharpen their academic skill set by completing up to six (6) credits during six weeks in the summer and participating in a comprehensive academic development learning community throughout the first year. Students with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.0 combined with a SAT score between 750 and 799 may be offered a conditional acceptance upon enrollment and successful completion of the Project Success summer program component. Students are extended this offer at the discretion of the Office of Admissions, as seats in the program are limited. Conditional Admission status will be removed upon achieving satisfactory academic status of at least a 2.0 GPA at the end of the first year. SMILE STEM Training Camp Undergraduates | Aug 14-20, 2013
Fifty incoming freshmen majoring in STEM disciplines will attend a one week training camp. The camp focuses on academic enrichment in mathematics, sciences, and language arts. Students engage in leadership development, college transition sessions, and team building activities with their Living Learning Community. Freshmen launch their year-long mentoring relationships with peer mentors who assist students through their transition into college life.

SMILE Undergraduate Research Undergraduates | May 20-Jul 25, 2013
Eight DSU undergraduate students will engage in a ten week research experience in STEM laboratories on campus. The students work in the laboratory 35 hours per week to begin a year-long research project, mentored by DSU STEM faculty. These students continue this research through the fall and spring semesters.
