Did you know Delaware State University offers summer camps for youth? There is something for many age groups and interests. We offer camps in the following areas:

Summer Fun Club Grade K-8 | Jun 11 - Aug 22
The Summer Fun Club at the Boys & Girls Club on the DSU campus will feature daily activities including STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), cooking, swimming, book club, sports and fun and educational field trips. Snacks and lunch will be provided.

AgDiscovery Program Grade 9-12 | July 7-20
The AgDiscovery Program at Delaware State University is a two-week residential camp co-sponsored by the USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service for youth to learn about careers in agriculture.

Delaware State University Women's Lacrosse Summer Clinic Grade 9-12 | August 3 & 4| 9 - 11 am
The Delaware State University Women's Lacrosse Program will offer an on-campus two day summer clinic for high school girls. The focus of this camp will be reinforcing the basic fundamentals of the game, while increasing the campers lacrosse IQ.

The Aviation Career Education (ACE) Academy Grade 9-12 | June 17-21| 8 am - 5 pm
The ACE Academy at Delaware State University is a program designed to offer an introduction to the aviation industry and aviation careers to middle and high school students. The goal is to provide an opportunity that will provide insight and hands-on experience for students to learn the history of aviation, fundamentals of aerodynamics, the role of government in aviation, pioneers in aviation, and the many careers available in the aviation industry. Students will participate in many engaging activities: model aircraft building; introductory orientation flights; visits to aviation museums; FAA and air traffic control facilities; air shows (if available); aviation speaker forums; and field trips to military and commercial facilities. The Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals ACE Academy is a nationally recognized program co-sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees.

Kermit W. Blount/DSU Football Camp Grade 8-12 | Sat. July 20| Sat. July 27
The Kermit W. Blount/DSU Football camp which aims to test athletic ability and teach the basic fundamentals and skills of the game of football will be held for the third straight year on the campus of Delaware State University. DSU football staff will be assisted by coaches from the surrounding areas, providing an opportunity to work with some of the best teachers this great game has to offer.

Junior Entrepreneurs in Training (JET) program Grade 6-9 | July 15-26| 9 am - 3pm
Does your young person have an idea but is not sure how to make it a reality? Does he or she want to know what it takes to operate a business? The JET Program at Delaware State University teaches entrepreneurship to youth in a fun and exciting summer camp. Students in the JET Program will participate in exercises to spark their creativity; participate in hands-on activities; act upon a dream and be their own boss; learn how to think like an entrepreneur; and create a business plan all while making new friends and having fun! Participants will also take part in a business plan competition with prizes and awards

Culinary Arts in the Hospitality Industry Grade 6-8 | June 24-28|8 am - 5 pm
Culinary Arts in the Hospitality Industry is a Hospitality and Tourism Management summer program at Delaware State University for middle school students. The goal is to expose middle school students through hands-on activities to careers in culinary arts and hospitality management. Participants will develop, plan and prepare food items, based on restaurant themes; design and set up specified place settings using china ware, based on restaurant themes; explore back of house restaurant operations, to include design, equipment and setup; conduct cost analysis of food pricing; and design and set up a culinary cuisine for a family of four. Collegiate Equestrian Preparatory Clinic Grade 6-12 | Jun 24-26| 8 am - 6 pm
Clinic will include riding instruction in hunter seat equitation over fences and flatwork, horsemanship, and reining. Clinic will also cover NCAA equestrian rules and regulations, and will end with a mock competition. Computer Graphics for Juniors Grade 6-12 | July 8-12| 8 am - 5 pm
Learn the basics or hone your existing skills using PhotoShop, Illustrator and Painter. The full-day Computer Graphics for Juniors camp at Delaware State University will have your youngster begging for more time to show off his or her design skills. Sample projects include mock Web page design, photo restoration, digital landscape painting, CD cover design, character building and much more. Mindstorm Robotics Grade 4-8 | Jun 17-21|Jul 8-12| Jul 22-26| Jul 29-Aug 2| Aug 5-9| Aug 12-16|
Do you want to give your child a jump-start on a high paying, fun career in the future, all while having fun? The LEGO Mindstorm Robotics camp at Delaware State University is a perfect way to do just that. The LEGO Mindstorm series kits contain software and hardware to create small, customizable and programmable robots. These robots will perform various tasks from a robotic competition. This program will allow students to develop skills in science, mathematics, technology and engineering. Students will develop basic trouble-shooting, problem-solving and critical thinking, while promoting teamwork, cooperative learning and computer programming skills. Art and Etiquette Grade 3-6 | June 24-28
The arts provide youth with the opportunity to engage their hearts, minds and bodies. It can enhance creativity, self-discipline and foster self-esteem necessary for other areas in life. The Art and Etiquette camp at Delaware State University will be a hands-on art experience which will educate children in the various art forms while building a lifelong appreciation for the arts. This cultivation will be supplemented with pearls of wisdom about etiquette, equipping each young participant with information about proper conduct and protocol in various social situations. The week-long camp will end with an Afternoon Tea/Art Exhibit on the last day of class where each student will be able to implement the lessons learned. National Summer Transportation Institute Grade 11-12 | Jul 8-Aug 2
The National STI (NSTI) is a transportation focused career awareness initiative designed to introduce secondary school students to all modes of transportation-related careers, provide academic enhancement activities, and encourage students to pursue transportation-related courses of study at the college/university level. The program was developed to address future transportation workforce needs by ensuring that the industry has a well trained, qualified, and diverse workforce well into the 21st century. Each participant will receive a small stipend in the amount of $500 for their participation in the Institute. Applications are due by Friday, May 10, 2013 NOTE: This program will take place if funding is received.

(STARS) Science and Technology Academy for Residence Scholars Grade 10-12 | June 30 -July 27
The Science and Technology Academy for Residence Scholars is a four week residential enrichment program on the campus of Delaware State University for rising 10th-12th grade high school students. The STARS program is designed to stimulate and extend the interest of high school students with a GPA average of B or above in the fields of mathematics, science and information technology. The science labs, computer labs and classrooms at DSU will be the setting for small group, hands-on activities in Mathematics, Science, Information Technology, English and SAT preparation. The majority of STARS instructors are DSU professors.

Camp Wall Street 101 Grade 10-12 | August 5-9| 9 am - 3 pm
Camp Wall Street 101 at Delaware State University is a day camp for students entering grades 9-12 with an interest in finance and the stock market. The camp will be held primarily in the state-of-the-art Financial Network Trading Room. Students will learn the basics about financial management from financial professional. The camp includes a field trip to enhance their experience. Participants will compete for prizes and awards. DSU's Financial Network Trading Room replicates a real-world trading experience and functions as a laboratory and classroom. Participants will compete for prizes and awards. Transportation will be provided. Some scholarships are available. Lunch and snacks provided daily. This program is sponsored by Bank of America.

2013 All Day Sports Camp Grade 1-6 | Six weekly sessions June 10-July 19| 9 am - 4:30 pm
At Delaware State University's 2013 All Sports Day Camp, college coaches will teach and work with campers, who will have access to all University-sponsored sports, the swimming pool and intercollegiate facilities to enhance their camp experience. Besides the athletic component, campers will receive a variety of non-athletic experiences. Academic enrichment, guest speakers and more have been planned each week. Payment plans are available; lunch and water will be provided by the camp, and each camper will receive a gift bag.

WeDo Robotics | CLOSED
Does your child enjoy creating imaginative projects involving animals, buildings or machines? If so, a simple robotic tool at Delaware State University's WeDo Robotics camp will allow students to build and design their own robot using LEGOS. This program uses a drag and drop software to manipulate the robots. Students will use WeDo to perform various experiments and activities. The program will stimulate students, creativity, teach them basic hands-on and teamwork skills, expose them to elementary computer programming and provide them with a sense of accomplishment.
