Participation
Warning
There are inherent risks of mental and physical injury
in all intramural sports and activities; therefore
you may be mentally and/or physically injured by
participating. Our goal is to reduce or eliminate
as many risks as reasonably possible to provide safe
programs.
This
does not mean that injuries will not
happen. We ask for your full cooperation
in following instructions regarding proper
conduct, proper use of equipment and
facilities, and adherence to the rules
of a particular sport or activity as
established by the Intramural Sports
Program.
Participants
are responsible for the cost of any
injury(s), therefore, you are encouraged
and recommended to have adequate health
insurance. |

Ineligible
Participants
An ineligible participant is one who does not meet
all eligibility requirements, uses an assumed name,
has been suspended from intramural participation,
or violates any of the following restrictions:
- A player shall not be allowed to play
on two organized teams in the same division
or league.
Example: A player cannot play
on two men's, two women's, or two
co-rec teams.
- Once a player has entered a game for
a given team, he/she is on that team
and cannot change to a different team. If
you don't want to be on a certain team,
don't play with them.
- Teams may not play an ineligible person
even by mutual agreement.
- Teams with an ineligible player will
forfeit each game played with the ineligible
player
- It is the team managers' responsibility
to make sure his/her team members do
not play on another team.
Note: If any of these situations
occurs, the player will be suspended
for his/her next game or may be
ineligible for the remainder of
league and/or tournament play.
- Students who participate in NCAA Division
I-AA varsity play may not participate
in the same league or tournament Intramural
play.
Example: A varsity basketball
player with eligibility may not
participate in Intramural Sports
League or Tournament basketball.
Note: The athlete must be
a senior with no NCAA eligibility
or the athlete is a Proposition 48.

Assumed
Name
The situation of an assumed name occurs when a player
does not use his or her own name, student I.D. card,
or student number while participating in an intramural
sport or activity.
- Anyone
found playing under an assumed name
or using another student's I.D. or
student number shall become ineligible
for at least one game or can be suspended
from all intramural sports for the
remainder of the semester on the first
offense. A second offense will result
in suspension from participating for
one year from the time of the infraction.
Note: Any
person found using an assumed name or
using another student's I.D. or student
number can be prosecuted for theft of
student services. All situations will
be handled by the Intramural Director,
Student Services, and/or Campus Police.
Identification
Requirements
All participants must present one of the follwing by
the first week of league play or by the league game
thereafter to be eligible to continue to participate:
1) A student, faculty, or staff I.D. card; or 2) A
driver's license and class registration receipt. Managers
must have their players bring the proper identification
at their first league game. It is the team manager's
responsibility to check the eligibility of his/her
team members. |
