Alumni Advisory Council (AAC)
Mission Statement
The Alumni Advisory Council (AAC) is an advisory and advocacy group, composed of College of Business (SOM) graduates committed to the growth and development of the College of Business. The AAC works closely with the leadership and students of SOM to ensure that its programs and activities are responsive to the ever-changing societal and business needs. The AAC strives to assist the School in establishing and maintaining linkages with Alums and the community at large--opening doors, creating resource opportunities, and identifying ways in which the College of Business can advance the development and future of our students, constituents and the larger community.
Council Purpose
Educationally
- Classroom visits:
- Oversee a case study
- Speak on specific topics in business
- Advise Faculty and Students
Promotionally
- Assist in the improvement of the image and reputation of SOM/DSU
- Community speaking: High Schools, Special Groups, Churches, etc.
- College Day Visits: High Schools, Special Groups, Churches, etc.
- Corporate Involvement: Companies they represent, organizations affiliated with
Professionally
- Advise Students
- Conduct mock interviews
- Speak in Forums
- Participate in Open House
- Interships, Co-ops, and Permanent Placements
Financially
- Personal Support
- Corporate Support
