The CMNST Dean's Distinguished Lecturer Series  Spring 2014 program continues with Ms. Gloria C. Godson, VP, Federal Regulatory Policy, Pepco Holdings, Inc.. Ms. Godson will give a talk on current issues in energy and demands on the electricity power grid at 11 a.m. in lecture hall 223 in Mishoe Science Center South on Thursday, March 20th. At the 6 p.m. public lecture, Ms. Godson will speak on "Energy Issues in the News: the Policy, Social and Economic Impacts" (Grossley Hall 112).
Gloria C. Godson is Vice President, Federal & PJM Regulatory Policy for Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI), a regional energy holding company that provides utility service to more than 1.9 million customers. PHI is the parent company of Potomac Electric Power Company, an electric utility serving Washington, D.C., and suburban Maryland; Delmarva Power, an electric and gas utility serving Delaware and the rest of the Delmarva Peninsula; and Atlantic City Electric, an electric utility serving southern New Jersey. Ms. Godson's primary responsibilities are to provide leadership guidance and strategic direction to develop, articulate and advocate PHI's federal regulatory policy, and elevate PHI's policy presence and participation at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission consistent with PHI's strategic and business plans. Additionally, she is the PJM lead for PHI (PJM is the regional transmission organization (RTO) that coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity in all or parts of 13 states and the District of Columbia.). In this role, Ms Godson provides leadership oversight, strategic policy development and key relationship management to PHI's participation in the PJM Interconnection, and works to position PHI as a thought and strategy leader in PJM.
