Stanley D. Merritt, Ph.D. is a global manager for Sustainable Growth in the DuPont Safety, Health, Environmental and Sustainable Growth Center where he is accountable for developing, driving and overseeing implementation of the Corporation's sustainability strategy for several different business units such as Building Innovations, Chemicals & Fluoroproducts, and Titanium Technologies. He also works directly with senior business leaders to build sustainability into their business' strategic plans, and helps define their actions in a way that ensures that sustainability is a key part of their value proposition and integrated effectively into the business.
Dr. Merritt began his career as Field Engineer in 1996. After holding several positions within the program (including environmental coordinator, R&D engineer, and field supervisor for the corporate environmental engineering group), he moved into Packaging & Industrial Polymers as a Six Sigma Black Belt and later held the titles of Venture Leader and Global Market Manager for the solar market segment. In October 2008 he moved to Electronics and Communications as a Global Business Development Manager for DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions. Dr. Merritt was named to his current position in 2012.
Dr. Merritt holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University, and degrees from Texas A&M University in Safety Engineering (M.S.) and in Environmental Engineering (Ph.D.).
