Message from the Presidential Search Committee Chairman

October 9, 2009 

The Search Committee has met and has recommended two finalists to the Board of Trustees for its consideration in choosing the next Delaware State University President. The names forwarded were Dr. Harry L. Williams, the current Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Delaware State University, and Dr. Leroy D. Nunery II, founder/principal of PlusUltre LLC, an advisory and consulting practice for educational, entrepreneurial and non-profit entities. Both participated in extensive on-campus interviews with constituent groups the week of September 28.  Feedback collected from the groups will be forwarded to the Board for its use in its discussions at an upcoming special meeting as yet to be determined.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to publically thank the Search Committee members. These individuals spent countless hours screening and interviewing candidates throughout the process with The Hollins Group, the Board’s search firm. Thanks, too, to the numerous persons who contributed thoughts in developing the leadership profile and who attended interview sessions for the finalists. Your opinions mattered throughout this process.
