Lisa Moody, MBA
Director of Career Services
 
Lisa Moody currently serves as the Director of Career Services specializing in providing career coaching and other professional development services for students, alumni, faculty and members of the community. Her other areas of responsibility include serving as the departments employer liaison, content manager, and event coordinator. Lisa also partners with community organizations such as Jobs for Delaware Graduates to provide seminars to high school students on what they can do now to be successful later in college or their careers.
 
Prior to coming to Delaware State University, Lisa spent 17 years in management in Corporate America in Operations and a brief period in the non-profit sector. Most of her employment tenure has been in banking and finance in credit cards and consumer deposits in a variety of fields ranging from collections, imaging, new accounts, fraud, individual retirement accounts, and corporate facilitating. She also has a background in residential real estate.
 
Lisa earned a B.S. in Christian Ministry from Chesapeake Bible College and Seminary and earned her MBA from Delaware State University. She enjoys utilizing her past and current experience to help others develop to reach their professional and personal potential.
 
 
Desiree Barnes, BSW
Student Employment Coordinator
 
Desiree Barnes currently serves as the Student Employment Coordinator for the Student Employment division of the Office of Career Services.  Since 2004, Desiree has served the students of Delaware State University in various capacities while progressing in leadership and advancing her knowledge of the multifaceted approaches of the Office of Financial Aid as the Associate Director of Student Financial Services.  Understanding that the benefits of financially investing in a quality education and the significant role education plays in lifelong employability of students, Desiree accepted the charge of Student Employment Coordinator in 2012.  Currently, Desiree maintains a massive caseload of hundreds of on-campus student workers; and expects her program to continuously increase in student participation.   
 
Desiree earned her Bachelors degree in Social Work from the Delaware State University, College of Education, Health and Public Policy, which was granted full accreditation status by the national professional accrediting agency, Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).  Desiree's education was focused on the studies of behaviors when working in diverse practice settings with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities.

 

Felicia Dorman, MSM, HRM
Career Coach

Felicia Dorman currently serves as the Career Coach and Professional Development Instructor for the Office of Career Services specializing in transitioning college students into the workforce.  With over 13 years experience in the industry, Ms. Dorman has served in a similar capacity with the Delaware Department of Labor as the subject-matter expert responsible for the transition and placement of  hard-to-serve populations with extreme barriers to employment including individuals reentering the workforce from long-term incarceration.  Ms. Dorman has designed, managed and administered customized programs, workshops and strategic case management plans designed to promote self-sufficiency within the lives of diverse jobseekers. 

Ms. Dorman’s impact on the communities in Delaware was recognized in 2006 as she was inducted into the Delaware Commission for Women Hall of Fame, which is one of the State’s most prestigious awards honoring the significant contributions and lasting impact of service to the community and the lives of others.  Ms. Dorman is the youngest woman in the over 30 year history of the commission to receive such an honor.  In 2004, Ms. Dorman was crowned Mrs. Georgetown United States and was a qualifier and competitor in the Mrs. Delaware United States pageant in 2005.  During her reign, Ms. Dorman’s platform was titled, Dream, and Dream Big, targeting and motivating youth that by their courage to put their dreams into action, they have the power to break down barriers, shatter the glass ceilings and become trailblazers for the success of their futures.

Felicia is currently pursuing a PhD in Forensic Psychology which will advance the research, evaluation and redesign of employment and self-sufficiency based programs for forensic populations such as juvenile offenders and incarcerated individuals.  She has earned a Masters degree in Management, Human Resource Management, a Bachelors degree and a Post Bachelor Certificate in Legal Studies, an American Bar Association approved prelaw program.  Ms. Dorman is a highly skilled Master Trainer, certified through Rutgers University, in partnership with the Delaware Department of Labor and the Global Career Development Facilitator program. 

In Felicia’s spare time she enjoys practicing photography, playing with her dog (Coconut, a Bichon) and spending quality time with her son (Antwon).
