About the Lecture Series

The Dean's Distinguished Lecturer Series occurs several times throughout the academic year. Featuring foremost speakers and researchers, these talks are sponsored by the Office of the Dean of the College of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Technology and are free and open to the public. A more specialized, technical lecture, geared toward science majors, faculty, professionals (and other interested persons) is generally scheduled to take place during the morning hours on the day of the public, evening talk.

Fall 2013:


11 a.m. technical lecture guest speaker will be Dr. Sergio C. Nanita, Principal Investigator of DuPont Crop Protection: Topic "Improving mass spectrometry for accurate chemical measurements in physical, environmental and life sciences" (Luna I. Mishoe Science Center South 223). 

  • November 19, 2013, 6 p.m.: Dr. Adrian B. Mims, National Director of The Calculus Project (Luna I. Mishoe Science Center N 139). Topic: "The African American and Latino Scholars' Calculus Project: Creating a Culture of High Academic Achievement in Mathematics." 11 a.m. technical lecture topic will be "The African American and Latino Scholars' Calculus Project: Creating a STEM Pipeline from Middle School to College" (Luna I. Mishoe Science Center N 139).
