Dean's Welcome

As we begin the new academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Delaware State University’s School of Graduate Studies and Research. The mission of our Graduate School is to provide high quality, advanced, graduate degree programs in specialized disciplines and professional fields that prepare graduates to achieve leadership status in their careers and communities, thereby making their marks on the world.
Our graduate programs support the mission of Delaware State University (DSU) with a commitment to providing all graduate students with a meaningful and relevant education in advanced and specialized programs appropriate to master's and doctoral level performance in their chosen disciplines or professions. It is recognized that the various graduate programs are not all the same, each having unique needs; however, all share the mission of serving a diverse population with programs that prepare its graduates to be productive and contributing professionals.
All graduate programs at DSU place students first, fostering their professional development and ability to lead in their fields and communities. Integrity, diversity, community, outreach, and scholarship are among the core values of our graduate programs. The School of Graduate Studies and Research seeks to maintain a culture and climate consistent with being among the best, while providing access to the traditionally underserved. This uncompromising pursuit of excellence and access has been achieved through teamwork, collegiality, partnerships, and delivering on commitments. Thus, I am confident that you will find DSU an inspiring, exciting and supportive environment for pursuing your graduate studies and professional goals.
Sincerely,
Michael H. Casson Jr., Ph.D.
