Tuition and fees, room and board, books, supplies, transportation, personal expenses - all must be financed by the graduate student's budget.

It comes as no surprise, then, that most students need help in meeting the numerous costs of graduate education. Sources of support for graduate study include state and federal government, private foundations, individual universities and faculty members, and research grants. 

Types of support available include grants, fellowships, loans and work-study programs. Grants and fellowships may provide the cost of tuition and fees, plus a stipend to cover living expenses.

Other forms of aid, such as the federal work-study program, require students to provide some type of service while enrolled in a graduate program. Loans generally are based on an assessment of need and must be repaid.

Full-time enrollment is defined as six (6) credit ours for graduate students.
