Financial Aid - Current Students
As the fall semester draws to a close, it is time to start thinking about the 2009 – 2010 school year. The Office of Financial Aid has posted information below to assist you with your financial aid planning. Please e-mail us at faid@desu.edu if you have any questions. You can visit the office Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There is no appointment necessary. You can also call (302) 857 - 6250 during normal business hours.
Some Things to Think About
- Do you need Summer classes?
- Have you met with your Academic Advisor?
- Are you on target to complete 30 credits this year?
- Will you have enough aid to pay for summer classes?
- Talk to Financial Aid NOW to determine summer aid eligibility!

January
~ Complete DSU’s Returning and Transfer Student Scholarship Application.
February
~ Complete the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov
~ Apply for outside scholarships
~ Meet with your Academic Advisor — Do you need to take Summer classes?
March
~ DSU FAFSA Priority deadline is March 15th
~ Returning and Transfer Scholarship deadline is March 15th
~ Review your Student Aid Report
April
~ FAFSA Verification Documents are due to Financial Aid by April 15th
May
~ Apply for Parent PLUS and Private loans
~ Update your mailing and e-mail addresses before going home for the summer!
2009 FAFSA Workshop Dates
Financial Aid staff will be available to help students complete the FAFSA on-line. Students must have a completed FAFSA on the Web Worksheet to participate. For Worksheets, visit www.fafsa.ed.gov or the Office of Financial Aid.
