Band to perform in the Presidential
Inaugural Parade


After performing in the state’s Returns Day Parade, Delaware State University Approaching Storm Marching Band’s election season musical work is not done. Instead, will move to the presidential national stage.

The University received official notification from the Presidential Inaugural Committee 2009 on Sunday that it has been chosen to be a part of the 56th Presidential Inaugural Parade on Jan. 20 in Washington, D.C.

The parade will start between 2 and 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20 and will start at Pennsylvania Avenue and 4th Street. The parade will continue about 1.5 miles up Pennsylvania Avenue, turn right at 15th Street… Click here for more information…

To raise funds to cover the cost of the trip and instrument needs, the band is having a pre-inaugural concert on January 18 at 4 p.m. in the Education and Humanities Theatre.  For a $10 donation, you can see this group of talented musicians perform the parade selections… Click here for more information…
